When Life Gives you Lemons captures my pug in a moment of complete, unapologetic indulgence lounging at the table beside an oversized cocktail, tongue out and entirely unbothered.

Painted in my signature whimsical, slightly surreal style, this piece came to me after the past month or so of Frank's diagnosis with IVDD, a common and degenerative disc disease. We have been to the vet, physical therapy, accupuncturists, and every single type of specialist. Despite these hard times, we have spent SO much quality time together and it really made me appreciate every moment we have.

The painting perfectly summarizes the struggles of being a pet parent, and how sometimes when life gives you lemons, you've gotta make a lemon drop martini!

Painted by hand on stretched canvas using acrylic paint, with layered brushwork and intentionally visible texture. The sides of the canvas are painted so the piece can be displayed framed or unframed! This is an original piece and the buyer will be the ONLY owner of this particular portrait.
